Live to Ride, Ride to Live

A post from msamericanpatriot - "an autistic female going for NORMAL people Olympic gold"

"My name is Andrea. I am 40 years old and autistic. I have a reality
show idea here. It is a cross between Little People Big World and Jockeys. It would feature me an autistic individual competing in the NORMAL
people world. This is perfectly legal according to USEF and FEI because I
personally contacted them asking if I could compete in their shows but
this was LONG before I decided to make it into a reality series. I
notice that Discovery Channel has done a psa about autism but NO shows
based on an autistic person. They have shows galore about little people
though. It would feature me training to one day compete in the NORMAL
people Olympic games. I would want it based in Florida since I have
heard they have a year round competion schedule for English disciplines.
Here in North Carolina the competion season is March to November. I
think the longer the season the faster up the ranks I can go. I have had
previous riding experience but never the chance to compete. The tag
line for the show would be: One doesn’t need Olympic sized prowess in
the mind as long as they have it in the heart. Show name would be:
Horsin’ Around. Theme song would be BonJovi’s It’s My Life. Can anyone
in here help me achieve this Olympic sized dream please and thank you? I
want to show the world that there is more to Autism than savants and
Rain Man. Its formal name is called Autism Spectrum Disorder. Spectrum
means rainbow and how can it be one when only one hue, the savant hue,
is given the lime light."
