As I said in my last post, Hunter/Jumper Horse Show attire is very traditional. However, it is also very trendy! Here are some of the exciting trends we are seeing in the Show Ring.
Show Coats: While you can't go wrong with the traditional navy blue show coat, it is refreshing to see riders wearing a range of beautiful colors and patterns in the show ring today. You will see Blues, Browns, and Grays in a variety of striped and plaid fabrics. Ariat's Legacy Hunt Coat is a perfect example of this trend.

And, believe it or not, Black is Back! Black show coats are no longer just for Dressage and Event riders. Hunter/Jumper riders are now sporting Black show coats in solid, striped and plaid patterns on the A circuit. For example, R.J. Classics Ladies Sterling Show Coat is now available in a gorgeous Black Plaid.

Breeches: A little bit of healthy competition! For the longest time, the only breeches you saw on the A-circuit were Tailored Sportsman's classic greenish/beige side zips. Ariat has taken the look of this classic riding breech and transformed it into a performance breech worthy of the equestrian athlete. With their innovative fit system and the latest in technical fabrics, Ariat is now a top choice among hunter riders. Check out the impressive list of features on the Ariat Pro Circuit Riding Breech.

Shirts: Essex Classics has been considered the finest riding shirt available for the English hunter/jumper rider for over 20 years. Over the years, they have continued to improve on their classic design. As new fabric technologies developed, Essex introduced the CoolMax Performance Collection using the Dupont fabric which wicks moisture from the skin which keeps the rider cool and dry during competitions. Essex continues to revolutionize the design of the classic show shirts by solving the the age old problem of missing chokers! The new "Wrap Collar" shirt has no chokers, but the collar snaps to create the appearance of a traditional riding shirt.
